How To Do 20 Minutes Yoga

Only 20 minutes of yoga a day could make a big difference in your life – present and future.

Maintaining an exercise routine consisting of 4, 1-hour long sessions can become difficult at times, especially during busy months of the year. However, it is very important for you to do some form of exercise to tackle stress and calm your mind. It has been said that you can lose the benefits of two weeks’ worth of exercising, if you miss exercising for four days consecutively.

Health benefits of yoga

If you are a beginner or haven’t done yoga in a while, you might find your body is not quite as appreciative of the movements as your mind would be. Rest assured that in no time your body will become more flexible, and you will get into different poses with more ease. Once you have your groove back, you will find that yoga relieves aches and pains, increases your metabolism and restores your energy levels, leaving you feeling rested. Yoga is a great way to detox your body and to boost or support your weight loss efforts.

20 minutes yoga practice

There are videos, and descriptions of all types of yoga poses on Internet. Some are meant to help you lose weight or be more flexible. Choose to do the forward bend, camel pose, child’s pose, tabletop or triangle pose to name a few. Hold each pose for 30 seconds and repeat for 20 minutes. If you want to work on your flexibility, opt for the upward facing dog, downward facing dog and revolved chair variation. The best yoga poses for weight loss is the boat pose, plank pose, bridge variation, side plank and superman pose.

In conclusion, 20 minutes of yoga is better than no yoga at all. When our lives get busy, it is important to remain calm, and one way to find that inner peace is the 20 minutes of yoga daily.

The best snacks, pre and post workout

Snacks that are healthy are easy to digest and will help you stay loose while you practice. Be kind to your body and allow yourself one to one-and-a-half hours for digestion after a light snack and two to three hours after a light meal before your yoga practice. Choose foods that do not overload your digestive system and give you balanced energy, such as a combination of whole grain carbohydrates, protein, and fat.

If you need extra energy, try our fantastic Energy balls. They are available in four flavors and provide your body with healthy protein and antioxidants.

What to eat after yoga

Having a balanced, satisfying snack with some carbohydrates, proteins, and fats will help your muscle recovery. After yoga, especially if it’s a vigorous flow, you’ll want to refuel with a snack that has a balanced ratio of carbohydrates to protein, which can help repair muscle tissues and restore energy levels.

One of our favorite post-yoga snacks includes Vitality Trio. The Wellness Trio snack packs are nutritionally rich and pack a punch when it comes to flavor.

We hope that with this article you have gained inspiration to maintain healthy routine and look after yourself with kindness.
